I guess I'm not used to seeing Emily with a cap on, because I wouldn't have known this rag doll was her.

Fun goth, horror, and Halloween findings on eBay

Coming soon from Mezco, the insanely cool Living Dead Dolls in Wonderland series.
The set features Sadie as Alice, Sybil as The Mad Hatter, Eggzorcist as the White Rabbit, and Inferno as The Red Queen. Not meant to have anything to do with the upcoming Tim Burton movie, these have a look and style all their own.
Available as a pre-order.

Calavera is dressed as a skeleton, all dressed up to go trick-or-treating on El Dia de Los Muertos. Remove her mask to see her beautifully tattooed face. She's one of the LDD Series 18 dolls, available on eBay or on Amazon.

Ingrid is a vampire who is dressed as a ... vampire.. to go trick-or-treating. She's available on eBay or Amazon.

Ember is a witch. Remove her mask to see the gruesome creature inside. Available on eBay and Amazon. A perfect little companion for you if you're going dressed as a witch this year.

Jingles is a black-masked jester. His mask removes to show his frightening grimacing visage. Available on Amazon and eBay.

Gabriella is a little greenish ghoul girl. She wears a shirt that says "The Ghoul" in case anybody really needs it spelled out for them. Available on Amazon and eBay.

For serious collectors, here's the Living Dead Dolls Series 18 Variants in orange and black. The set includes all five dolls: Jingles, Ember, Gabriella, Calavera, and Ingrid. Also available on Amazon

The Vampire Book is designed for tweens. Published as recently as September 2009, it has gorgeous page design and a lot of beautiful imagery. Since your tween will probably start reading Twilight soon, might as well let them see what actual vampire lore is supposed to look like.

This summer, renowned illustrator Michael Hague turned from illustrating fairies to try his hand at The Book of Ghosts. This lavishly illustrated picture book would be a great surprise gift for the budding young goth in your life.

Half Minute Horrors is a collection of short scary stories. The authors include Lemony Snicket, James Patterson, Neil Gaiman, R.L.Stine, Faye Kellerman, Margaret Atwood, and Jon Scieszka.

"Dear Vampa" is a hilarious tale of a vampire family (who lives on "Nostfer" Avenue by the way) who have a hard time adjusting to their new werewolf neighbors. Great for tweens.

While I wish The Witch's Guide to Cooking with Children was an actual Wiccan cookbook, alas, it's not. Instead, it's a cute humorous fiction book aimed at 9-12 year olds, in the mystery/sleuth genre.

For preschoolers, By the Light of the Autumn Moon is a perfect fall bedtime picturebook. Not at all spooky, it's about Autumn Equinox.

I can never own too many Snow White books, and this lavishly illustrated version is a welcome reprieve from Disney's sugarcoating. Just published on October 1st.

For fans of gently witchy books, Strega Nona's Harvest is a nice fall read. I've always loved Tomie de Paola's illustrations!

Now you don't have to wait until Christmas to enjoy opening a little door every day to find a chocolate treat. Here's a Halloween haunted house advent calendar from Pottery Barn Kids, for sale on eBay. Too cute!

Your little guy can go as a creepy plush spider! with this costume, found on eBay.

Is this baby bat costume the cutest thing you've ever seen? Squeal!!

This baby vampire is so cute, I'd love to kiss his cheeks. But he definitely looks like he'd bite me.

I adore the teal-and-black combo on this goth Fairy costume. Too lovely.

I would have loved this skeleton bride costume as a kid. Then again, my mom wouldn't have let me wear it. (Maybe that's why I went as a dead bride 6 years in a row once I was out of the house?)

This Child Ravager costume looks like something out of Mad Max, except only cleaner and fancier. The cool looking boots are of course just boot covers.

I'm not sure what a spider countess is, but I sure love the sleeves and collar on this costume!

I can imagine a little girl would love twirling around showing off her sleeves in this girl's vampire costume.

What can I say, she just looks adorable! This is a children's vampire costume from Amazon. I wonder if the collar would be a little too itchy though.

This one might be a bit hard to explain: Frankenstein's Bride Costume, on Amazon

I could do without the stupid tiny black bows on the bottom of the skirt, but otherwise I sort of like this vampire fairy costume (on Amazon). I like the wings, and I'm surprised the costume comes with them at this price point - usually you have to source the wings separately.

This vampire fairy costume is sized for teens. It's a bit rattier of a look, with raggedy wings.

The model wearing this Spider Fairy costume is way bustier than me, so I wonder if I should even attempt this corseted costume!

Having the perfect pair of really cool boots would definitely make this goth velvet fairy costume work a lot better. The wings are a bit simple looking - they aren't my favorite I've seen so far.

I think they'd sell a lot more of these goth fairy costumes if they would use something other than silly cheerleader-looking blonde models. This one's skirt is too short for my liking so I'm going to pass, but it's cool otherwise.

I don't have what it takes to pull off this much PVC, but I sure like the petal skirt and wings in this goth fairy costume (on eBay).

Death Mints make great Halloween stocking stuffers or additions to birthday gift bags. The tin is coffin-shaped, naturally. I also like to keep them handy on long road trips. If you can't find them in your area, you can find them on eBay.

She also sells Vampire Repellent garlic mints which are a great humorous gag gift. I really can't vouch for how they taste, though.

For your next Zombie Walk, pass out brain-flavored zombie mints. You'll be the uhm.. undead life of the party?

Prefer something a bit more elegantly packaged and nicer flavored? Try absinthe mints, available on eBay.

Like cinnamon? Try Dante's Inferno Balls. Great to slip into a wicked friend's Christmas stockings, too.

Here's a great simple witch costume for pulling off the fairy tale stereotype. No corset, no thigh high stockings, no teddy, and no fishnets. Just plain old witchy. I love it.

For a more mystical, magical, less uber-spooky witch costume, I like this velvet hooded tunic dress.

I love the tailored look of this Wicked Witch costume. It's a nice refreshing change from all the "sexy witch" costumes that show too much skin.

I do like this red and black witch costume, though it screams "I'm so sexy!" instead of "I'm so scary!" Note that the fishnet stockings are sold separately.

Ignore the mundane blonde model and picture someone dark haired in this Elvira-style witch dress. I love the pointy sleeves and skirt.

This isn't a scary or dark costume at all, but there's something I like about this green witch costume. I think you could really build around it well with your interesting dyed hair, the right boots, and witchy accessories. It's simple and looks comfortable for your trek to multiple parties.

I don't like green, so maybe it's the striped stockings that sell me on this Emerald witch costume.

I like the raggedy look of this witch costume.

I love these pointy witch shoes for Halloween costumes. I've got to find them in my big clown-shoe size (10, sigh).

This Wicked Witch mask is really freaking scary!!

I adore this plush horned witch hat. It reminds me of Maleficent, my favorite villain!

It's hard to find a non-cheesy, actually accurate looking Sweeney Todd Halloween costume. Most of the cool vests and shirts don't come with pants, or the pants are wrong. The models wear blue denim jeans instead of striped pants, or the vests look flimsy and inaccurate. Here's one of the better Sweeney Todd costumes which even comes with a pleather jacket.

This gray jacket for Sweeney Todd is a lot more realistic looking than the other ones on eBay. I love the buttons!

Someone went to an awful lot of trouble to make an accurate replica of Sweeney Todd's shirt.

This is Neca's Sweeney Todd prop kit. It comes with a razor and bloody looking shaving mug. Probably not something you'd want to carry around with you on the street or into parties at someone else's house, but if you're hosting a party at your own home, it'd be an awesome way to dress up your guest bathroom.

Most of the Mrs. Lovett costumes are corseted black dresses that look nothing like Helena Bonham-Carter's costume in the movie. Here's a better one, though you'd need a spot-on wig to pull it off.

This is a gorgeous Mrs. Lovett corset, top and skirt.

This is hilarious! Someone has made a replica of Mrs. Lovett's meat pie that you can drag around with you on Halloween. It's plastic, and has a bone sticking out of the bitten part of the pie! There's another cool Mrs. Lovett's meat pie prop here too, which comes with a bloody rolling pin!

And to finish your costume, here's a Sweeney Todd wig. Ignore the model's very un-Johnny-Depp-like appearance!

Neil Gaiman's new book came out today! Odd and the Frost Giants stars a little boy named Odd, living in ancient Norway. He embarks on a quest to save Asgard from invading frost giants. If he succeeds, he'll help end the long cold winter.
There's info on the book at Neil's Mouse Circus site.

HOLY SHIT!!!

It's just so big and red, I think I'd have nightmares if this rang my doorbell!

If someone wearing this walked into my Halloween party, I think I'd faint dead away right then and there.

What the hell is this? A Monkey-Clown?

I've never had a particular fear of goats, but a human-sized one just plain freaks me out.

There's nothing, NOTHING scarier than a dumb hillbilly!

"Cake Girl" is not at all Halloween-themed. A witch creates a living cake topper to keep her company on her birthday. But the cake girl doesn't want to go along with the witch's plans!

This book is just plain silly and cute.

Not goth, not dark, not spooky, but your five to eight year old might really enjoy this Halloween-themed book with nice illustrations.

This book is so goth-awesome, I had to buy it right at the Borders store where I saw it. Adorable! I didn't know when I bought it, it's the sequel to Skelly & The Skeleton Girl.

I love authors with a sense of humor. This book involves avoiding eating something yucky for dinner (beets, in this case).

"Haunted Party" is a counting, rhyming book for little babies, featuring skeletons, the cheerful ghost on the front, mummies and more creatures of the night. If your mother-in-law is kinda uptight, don't let her see this laying around the house, even though it's so cute and unspooky.

Count Dracula: Welcome to Transylvania is for older kids only. It's an illustrated retelling of Bram Stoker's novel, to help introduce older kids to the novel before they're ready to read the actual book.

This rhyming book features bats, cats, snails, slugs and other creatures.
